Emmer is a part of the Farro family of wheats: 'Farro medio'. While it's history is still being researched and debated, it is definitly a Grandpapa of the Grains! Originating in the feritle cresent, this native middle eastern grain is one the first to be domesticated. It makes excellent bread and is used in specialty loafs around the world.
